The Making a 3D model of Brandon Sanderson's Shallan

This is hard. I don't have a strong background in 3D modeling and I was told I should never do characters if I didn't know what I was doing. I really want to make characters. I am making Brandon Sanderson's radiant warrior Shallan Davar in Maya. The multicut tool is my new best pal. He makes those triangles go away and allows me to make new edges. The hand was one of the hardest thing about her so far. I think I need more edge loops around the fingers to round them out. But so far it looks like this. Later on I will give her a dress, skin and the ever flowing auburn hair. Pattern will be incorporated somewhere too.
