I did a job for my sister's fashion company called Ponce Gold. She's very much into storytelling. This particular piece was done in photoshop. She wanted the books to be like a gateway into another world.
I changed the exposure of everything but the pages of the "magical book" to a darker tone so the book pages can be lit up. I took out the book titles and painted out the back wall where there was a brighter spot under the arm. Now it would take up less notice. The hand was painted to match the page's glow and repainted to still contain it's original coloring. This PSD project had nine layers to achieve this effect.
